Before I attended Academic Writing Program, organized by Fatima Zaidi, my writing lacked critique. Thankfully, that changed for the better, after I completed her Academic Writing Program. Fatima Zaidi, a former KPU student organized the successful program herself and shared it with her peers and worked with us towards a common goal, success in our academic works. Her exciting and engaging program came to my attention via word-of-mouth. I was curious about it when a fellow student mentioned that we would likely benefit from taking part in her seven week program. With that useful suggestion, I signed up, took part in it and found it to be beneficial in my student life. In the Academic writing Program, I learnt that every word needs a purpose or it should be removed. I was also taught how to read and think more critically of my own written work. Fatima taught in a fun yet professional manner. As a person and teacher, she is highly motivated to assist others and grow their love for written expression. I consider her a mentor and an inspiration to the student body and writers alike. Her character drives her forward and she is genuinely passionate in her pursuit to assist others in their success. With her as a leader in the Academic Writing Program, I felt that she was willing to help her students refine their work and become more effective writers. Hi this is Luz Ramos, Fatima helped me a lot when I was about to enroll at Drake Medox where I took up Community Support Worker.
To tell you frankly, I don’t have any formal computer lessons and I need a lot of help with technology. It was Fatima who guided me on what to do and helped me throughout the process. With her extensive knowledge about computers, everything from choosing what type of computer I should be getting for myself all the way to coming over and setting everything up, she was there to help me at every step. She did all the research so I can save money and have the best computer that I can use during the duration of my studies and can still be valuable for me when I will have a new job. She even helped me with the simple things that I honestly don't know how to do. She helped me set up my speakers, printer and organized all of my files and photos on the computer. She even called Microsoft tech support for me when I was having trouble setting up the student account.
During my studies, Fatima was very helpful as well. I experienced some language barriers and she taught me very patiently and helped me understand my assignments and helped me with my homework a lot. I am very much thankful to Fatima, she is the person who helped me more than I expected.
